RAIN IT ON DOWN
what else can you throw at me that i haven't heard before?
simple, true
bright, but not blue,
you think you've got me.
but you've only got an empty hand,
a confident plan, yet no place to stand.
with sparkling eyes, you'd think you owned the world,
but in fact, the city holds back-
a gamble for everything you're worth.
who's to say-
that the blind will see?
who's to say-
this isn't a weak analogy?
as the laughter hits my face,
but my warnings fall, deafening, unnoticed,
i know this place disheartens-
so why do we keep grasping the world in our hands?
what else can you throw at me that i haven't heard before?
simple, true
bright, but not blue,
you think you've got me.
but you've only got an empty hand,
a confident plan, yet no place to stand.
with sparkling eyes, you'd think you owned the world,
but in fact, the city holds back-
a gamble for everything you're worth.
who's to say-
that the blind will see?
who's to say-
this isn't a weak analogy?
as the laughter hits my face,
but my warnings fall, deafening, unnoticed,
i know this place disheartens-
so why do we keep grasping the world in our hands?
