accident.
ice. snow. pavement.
two girls. one concrete meridian.
bumper cars. spinning. terrifying.
how could i begin to explain how wordless i felt with the rush of intensity.
it could have been way worse, but it wasn't.
(the facts)
we were taking our time due to the snow on 1-5 near longview.
the vehicle in front of us started braking quickly, so fast,
that i was sure we would have hit the vehicle if we hadn't changed lanes.
however, when we changed lanes, we hit ice.
and swerved, spun, i don't really recall, into the middle concrete median.
the impact spun us again so we made contact twice.
i'd like to add that this was not a particularly fun way to experience bumper cars.
well, somehow we stopped and our vehicle was in the middle of the highway facing the median.
my friend was apologizing prefusely and i was wordless.
mortified, the only thoughts i had were what if someone did the same thing and hit us.
my friend was calling everyone and their brother, while i just called my mother, texted a handful of people, and eventually called my dad.
i didn't want to worry anyone.
and mostly, i didn't know how to feel because being stuck in the middle of the highway in the snow and ice is petrifying.
luckily, a police officer came quickly seeing as he was just on the otherside of the highway.
he stayed with us and gave us some protection from the traffic.
we were towed due to the fact that the vehicle wouldn't start.
we spent a few hours in kalama before we were on our way again.
it is nice to have made it home in one piece.

wordless,
i called.
world amess,
you came.
can't comprehend,
the sacrifice
you made.
wordless,
i found.
beauty remained,
lost in the sound,
unashamed by your name.
LORD JESUS,
i do not,
i cannot
understand
who you are
and why you love so deeply.
more than enough,
you have saved me.
teach me.
mold me.
captivate me.
envelop me.
daily, LORD, daily.
i shouldn't need reminding,
but i do, LORD, i do.
